TVET Conference 2018




The Week of Skills 2018 was held during the week of 5-9 November, 2018 organized by the "Industry-Led Skills and Workforce Development” project of Millennium Challenge Account-Georgia.


The Week of Skills 2018 was officially opened with the Annual Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Conference Investing in Human Capital” on November 5. Throughout the week, ten vocational education providers funded within the ISWD project hosted "Open Door” days and the week was completed on November 9, with TVET Awards 2018 ceremony.


The Third Annual International conference, "Investing in Human Capital” was held on November 5, at Biltmore Hotel. The key-note speakers were Nigel Jeremy, Chief Learning Officer from British Airways, UK and Brian Gonzalez, General Manager of Global Education Sector from Intel Corporation, USA. Speakers  shared their companies experience in investing in human capital, staff training and development and cooperation with education sector.


During November 6-9, the "Open Door” days were organized in ten TVET providers, where new vocational programs were presented, that are developed with the support of ISWD Project of Millennium Challenge Account - Georgia. Attendance at "Open Door” days was open for all and interested parties could learn about new programs and visit renovated infrastructure.


The Week of Skills 2018 was completed by TVET Awards 2018 ceremony, which was held on November 9, at Biltmore Hotel. The winners in four categories were awarded: TVET Student of the Year, TVET Professional of the Year, TVET Provider of the Year and TVET Business Partner of the year. The winners will take part in one-week study tour in Germany.
